Bitcoin is mounting a strong bounce from the weekend lows of $15,700. Just minutes ago, the leading cryptocurrency broke to $16,500 and passed it for the first time this year. At its local highs, BTC traded for $16,550.

While BTC trades slightly below those highs, it is positioned to move higher as it looks primed to flip $16,000 into support on a daily time frame.

Bitcoin has faced some intense buying pressure throughout the past few hours, allowing its price to see some immense gains. This upside comes as Ethereum and the rest of the altcoin market all consolidate, with attention shifting back towards BTC.

The cryptocurrency still has a way to go before it can see another immense rally higher. It is currently pressing up against a key high time frame resistance level that has been hampering its price action for several weeks.

Where it trends in the near-term will likely depend primarily on whether or not it can hold above this level – which exists at $16,500 – and flip it into support.

If it can firmly surmount this level, bulls could take full control and send it r ... Read more »

Citibank Group’s Global head of Citifxtechnicals product, Tom Fitzpatrick expects to see the price of bitcoin peaking at $318,000 by end of 2021. Although he concedes that his prediction might seem improbable, Fitzpatrick argues that such a surge will still be the weakest rally for the digital asset when compared to other assets such as gold. He also adds that bitcoin is all about the”unthinkable rallies followed by painful corrections.” Bitcoin will see huge price swings before finally settling at the predicted price suggests Fitzpatrick.

However improbable this seems, it would represent the “weakest” major rally so far, at a 102 times increase from low to high.

A recent Bitcoin (BTC) technical analysis reportedly prepared by CitiFX for its institutional clients points to a potential high of $318,000 sometime in December 2021.

In a supposed note to clients seen by Twitter commentator Alex on Nov. 14,  Citibank managing director Tom Fitzpatrick looks at the long-term trend of Bitcoin price, characterized as it has been by “unthinkable rallies followed by painful corrections.”

Notably, the three major bullish periods of BTC so far have been increasing in length. Initially, there was a 10-month run from 2010–2011, followe ... Read more »

Fidelity Digital Assets has published its response to commonplace criticisms of Bitcoin.

"Bitcoin has failed as means of payment" is one of the prevalent criticisms of Bitcoin (BTC) that Fidelity Digital Assets is seeking to rebut. In a blog post published on Nov. 13, the firm took on six “persistent” criticisms, including Bitcoin's volatility, environmental wastefulness and use in illicit activities.

Regarding the coin's purported failure as a means of payment for everyday transactions, Fidelity's argument is that this criticism fails to understand Bitcoin's core purpose. The currency is outperformed, Fidelity accepts, by conventional payment rails like Visa, Mastercard and PayPal, all of ... Read more »

The delisting of Dash and Zcash has some wondering about the future of privacy coins on major exchanges.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that regulators are starting to pay close attention to cryptocurrencies this year. For instance, as the price of Bitcoin (BTC) continues to soar, it’s predicted that regulators will start taking direct action – possibly even banning Bitcoin completely.

While the ban may sound extreme, regulators have recently honed in on the use of privacy coins like Monero (XMR), Zcash (ZEC) and Dash. For example, in September this year, the United States Internal Revenue Service offered a bounty of up to $625,000 for intelligence firms that could break the untraceable privacy coin Mo ... The market is patiently waiting for explosive returns, as much as over 60% monthly, just like we saw in 2013 and 2017

Over the weekend, the price of the Bitcoin fell to the $15,700 level, but today, we made another attempt to test high levels. Going back to nearly $16,400, currently, Bitcoin is trading in the green with $1.85 billion.

According to on-chain analyst Willy Woo, Bitcoin is shaking off the bearishness technicals that make short and mid-term on-chain fundamentals bullish as more coins get scooped off exchanges still. This means more users arriving, indicating a buy the dip scenario.

This price action is rather organic, means instead of dominated by short term derivative traders, it tracks closely wi ... Read more »

Bitcoin price dropped below the parabola on the 12-hour timeframe but traders aren't calling for a big correction yet.

Over the weekend numerous traders pointed out that Bitcoin (BTC) price broke its parabolic uptrend which had dated back to September. Technical analysts are bracing for a pullback as the dominant cryptocurrency eyes consolidation.

Bitcoin could still see a strong recovery after the weekly close if there is a continuation of the rally. But it would need to quickly re-enter the parabola or risk a potential downward correction.

Traders pinpoint $15,500 as the key level to maintain the bull run

Since early September, Bitcoin has continuously rallied without major corrections. Typically, durin ... Read more »
